History is a guide to navigation in perilous times. History is who we are and why we are the way we are.
-David C. McCullough-
As some of you might know, I not only have this account but another, which I consider my main account. So often this account will only be used as a portfolio of sorts depending on the time I have. So forgive me if my journal never gets updated properly or Im slow in commenting

knowing full well no one comes to you on DA you have to go to them

, least till you get noticed. (for those of you who dont know, Ive been here for a good 5 years or so)
Anyway, on to a normal journal!
Right now I am trying to find some sturdy but inexpensive studio equipment. Between the wedding and moving back to the province I am from with my fiancée and 6 cats money is kinda thin. Which is kinda sucky because obviously a good photographer does studio work, I dont think you can make a living on prints alone when you are staring out. Also leaves no money for taking part time courses, because I am a history major, though I do have a lil natural talent I think.
In another news, Alberta sucks. I find most native Albertans to be selfish and care only about money, partly because thats all the province and conservative government cares about. That said, there are some to be okay, hell I am marrying one, so they cant be all bad.
In Calgary they have what we call the working homeless. These guys make anywhere from 16 to 20 dollars an hour but still can not afford Rent is most places in the city. Those places that are cheap would have gone years ago. Its sad because they work all day and bust their rears and yet they are considered horribly by the general population.
Part of the problem is that property owners in Calgary have been renovating old apartment buildings into Condos or just changing the name so they could raise rent and charge condo fees. This makes it near impossible for those who live alone to really afford a place to stay, or those who make anything near minimum wage.
AND instead of building affordable housing, they are building a walking bridge to a park for 25 Million, a park I might add that already has like 4. They need a good kick in the ass
Okay, end rant
How is everyone else? Oh and check the features down below, as well as prints I have for sale outside DA.
